Submission Deadline: 1/29/2018 Start Date: 3/1/2018 End Date: 10/31/2018 Client: Information Technology Department (ITD) Description: Describe Scope of Work The North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD) is looking to contract with trained, established, and experienced Business Intelligence (Bl) Report Testers with at least 2 years of current and progressive work experience testing Bl reports and visualizations developed using IBM Cognos reporting tools and testing the extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes from source systems into a data warehouse and data cubes. Services include: • Close coordination with State IT and business personnel to ensure proper testing of Bl reports • Prepare a test plan and test strategy for validating each step of the Bl process, including areas such as ETLs, data modeling, report generation options, and report appearance, content, and functionality such as sorting and drill-downs • Design test cases for use in validating the projects technical and business reporting requirements and the report design, incorporating source system functionality where needed to meet end-to-end test conditions • Execute testing, documenting test results and utilizing the projects defect and test case management procedures • Identify and manage data in the source system(s). Generate additional test data to ensure a complete test of the flow and transformation of data from the data source to subsequent data stores to the final reports. • Verify data transformation meets business requirements and rules • Verify integrity of the data loads into the data warehouse and other data stores • Prepare and execute queries • Evaluate, design, and implement automated testing options when appropriate Skills and experience requirements: • Experience in using IBM Cognos reporting tool sets and related testing software, such as Motio • Enterprise-level database experience such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and/or IBM 082 • Good time management skills with an understanding of project management concepts • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Able to communicate technical information to non-technical and technical users • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and written and verbal English language proficiency In addition, preference may be given to individuals with the following skills/experience: • Experience in report writing using Report Studio, Workspace and Workspace Advanced • End-to-end report design expertise from requirements gathering through published reports • Experience designing a variety of products such as dashboards, scorecards, drill-through reports, data cubes, ad hoc queries, interactive visualizations, and models for predictive analytics • Knowledge in dimensional data modeling concepts • Knowledge of and experience with public reporting requirements especially state government reports for federal requirements • Experience related to Human Services business areas: Medicaid Eligibility; Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF); Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); Child Care Assistance The anticipated time frame for this work order is March 2018 through October 2018. Depending on individual performance, project workload and funding, extensions of this time frame are possible. Both ITD and the vendor have the option to terminate work for a given individual.
