Primary Responsibilities: • Supporting and administering Spectrum Protect application (running on AIX platform) • Monitor/alert on failed backups and resolve issues • Install software updates, code, BIOS and firmware updates on SP servers as needed • Work with Server Administrators to assist with troubleshooting backups The Spectrum Protect server runs on an AIX platform which performs backups of clients running on a variety of operating system including: Redhat Linux, Windows Server and AIX. IBM Spectrum Protect knowledge of directory container pools, retention policies, node replication, and de-duplication is required. There are approximately 2000 nodes being backed up nightly. Some work may be required to be performed after normal business hours during specific downtime windows as defined by ITDs change management process. Secondary Responsibilities: • Storage administration on IBM A9000/XIV/V7000/V5000/DS series platforms • Fiber Channel connected SAN • Disk provisioning • Code updates, BIOS and firmware updates as needed • Troubleshooting disk performance issues The Storage environment is approximately 2000 servers (physical and virtual) in multiple datacenters in the immediate area. Some work may be required to be performed after normal business hours during specific downtime windows as defined by ITDs change management process REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE # YEARS (2) References: You must upload two completed references you have obtained on your candidate when submitting into dotStaff.
