We have a 30-month project with our client in Albany, NY that requires a Business Analyst, Expert Provides distinct deliverables which contribute to a solution for medium scale to large projects (500 users and over $1 million budgets) and other business analysis work. Day-to-Day Tasks include, but not limited to: Guide multiple medium to large-scale business technology projects or work assignments with distinct deliverables to a solution Develops and maintains user, interface and technical documentation and project process documentation for Application or Project Teams Solicits the users application and/or technology needs and translates them into a sequence of logically arranged procedures in order to ensure that the system(s) delivered meet the users needs and intended outcomes. Performs data analysis including, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, logical database design Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Develops and/or maintains, or guides the work of others and validates the products delivered, the following types of documentation: system documentation; interface documentation; user manuals; computer operations and program maintenance manuals; plans for training, testing, quality assurance, data migration and contingency operations; installation guides; backup, recovery and restart procedures; technical writing for proposals, presentations, standard operating procedures (SOP), policies and procedures as well as reports Edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents Evaluates newly developed systems against legacy data to ensure accuracy, consistency and system integrity as well as eliminating duplicate records Coordinates with vendors in deploying application code, installing, and testing software Uses recognized methodologies to elicit requirements from stakeholders and business users as the foundation for developing solutions to the organizations business needs and liaises with end users, software vendors and developers in order to achieve these outcomes Develop systems requirements for future or to-be states of large business system projects using standard templates. Assists NYS Staff with one or more system analysis projects involving the use of a broad range of tools and techniques. Analyze current or as-is states of business/systems processes, functions, and process models Communicate requirements to IT staff, program staff and stakeholders. Develop test plans, scripts and data and test scenarios, coordinate testing and evaluate test results, manage all test assets. Write system documentation and train users on new IT system process and functions, serving as a change agent to ensure users adopt and use new/changed business process and systems. Develop Business Cases: gather and organize preliminary analysis of information about costs/benefits, advantages/disadvantages, and technical feasibility of designing and implementing business solutions.
