Responsibilities

Are you an expert in an industry vertical or specific technology? Then you should contact us! We have a 30-month project with our client in Albany, NY that requires a COBOL Programmer, Expert

Will assist NYS staff with all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for a multi-tiered complex processing system. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks.

Day-to-Day Tasks include, but not limited to:

Analysis of requirements and system design work.
Guiding or assisting in presentations of system designs to the users and technical communities.
Development of detailed design documents and program specifications.
Coding, unit, and integration testing of programming assignments.
Writing and tuning SQL
Technical Support of user testing efforts.
Performance tuning of new and existing applications.
Production support tasks including analysis of issue, propose and implement solutions.
Mentoring of less experienced staff would be required.
The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where legislative changes must be quickly implemented.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Creates computer software. May specialize in one area of computer software or may write code for many kinds of software.
84+ Months-Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Preferred Qualifications:

84 months of COBOL programming experience
60 months experience with large government Taxation organization which includes business knowledge, technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of complete Tax Return Processing. Large Government Organization based on the volume of taxes and fees administered. Currently this department administers more than 40 state and local taxes and fees, including more than $14 billion in local sales tax and $8 billion in local income tax.
84 months of IBM DB2 experience working with large databases 1 terabyte or greater of data storage.
60 months of IBM MQSeries experience
72 months experience with Java programming
48 months experience with ETL tool programming using IBM Infosphere DataStage
48 months of system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems
84 months of JCL experience
