We are looking for a senior developer who can create MySQL queries and Unix/Linux shell scripts to support migration and maintenance activities. Skills and knowledge required: The candidate must have strong SQL programming/development and query tuning experience on MySQL database. The candidate must have strong experience with UNIX/Linux environments and strong shell scripting experience. The candidate will be responsible for administration of NOC database platforms Experience with one other database like Hadoop, Mongo DB is required. Candidates with experience of only Oracle/Microsoft SQL server databases are not required. The role will have a strong focus on analyzing the database design, troubleshooting, Query Optimization, fine-tuning the performance, and monitoring of system health, to ensure high levels of performance and security. Previous experience in developing and maintaining back-end database packages, procedures, functions, and views Proficiency with SQL*Loader, SQL Developer, and/or other similar tools Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools in a plus Participate in system testing, user acceptance, documentation, and other implementation activities as needed Day to day responsibilities: Learn the IBM Sailfish platform and work with the staff and the vendor on migration tasks. Ensure that the database platform is running at optimal efficiency; performing indexing and other database, table and query tuning. Address all errors that happen in the system; working with the vendor for a solution as well as finding root cause. Perform system-level tuning and optimization and shell script routine tasks.
