Position Functions or Responsibilities: As a Database Administrator, you will be working as Level 2, 3 technical support. Your roles and responsibilities include providing database admin support taking into account business requirement, priorities, risk, synergies and technical / regulatory constraints. As a SQL Server DBA your day to day tasks involve : • Incident & Problem Management • User Requests and Issues management • Perform data migration, and redaction utilizing approved tools and process • Monitor database for growth and respond to any application issues • Develop capacity model based on requirements • Identify and recommend changes to poorly performing SQL to the application developers, object statistics gathering, data level migration, schedule application jobs to perform data housekeeping and maintenance • Review and recommend efficiencies in application design as it relates to the operationalization of the applications. • Define, maintain and implement database infrastructure level standards (naming, coding, security, SQL, databases objects). • Provide feedback sessions to application users concerning database design. • Design indexing, referential integrity, constraints, data types, database objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers). • Maintain logical data models. • Provide logical/application database subject matter expert. • Work with application teams to define database object referential integrity. • Assist with the implementation of database implementations of scripted application codes. • Design physical database architecture (layout, distribution, placement). • Maintain physical models. • Maintain physical database documentation (instances, servers, databases). • Define database server connectivity configuration. • Define application and client server connectivity configuration. • Create and maintain physical database build scripts. • Execute physical data base build scripts. • Define database shutdown/startup procedures/scripts. • Define database application shutdown/startup procedures/scripts. • Define update statistics jobs. • Escalation and follow up of cases with product vendors • Participating in testing & on-boarding new instances / services • Participating and contributing towards automation initiatives • Performing 24x7 support, resolve non production and production incidents on time and troubleshoot issues • Will have to work in shifts (3 shifts including night) • Weekend on-call support Requirements - 7+ years of relevant experience in MSSQL Database Administration - Excellent knowledge in High Availability, Performance Tuning, Disaster Recovery - Experience in Installation, Migration and upgradation projects - Experience in clustered environment. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Working experience in production support environment. - Excellent team player Basic Qualifications: Three / Four year college degree in a IT/Engineering discipline 3-5 years of current and relevant production support experience in BFSI industry Excellent understanding of IT terminology and processes   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
