The ideal candidate will be a seasoned individual focused on maintaining & supporting GCRTAs network, including but not limited to configuring & managing routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls IP Addressing & Schema, VPN, and more. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment working with a combination of bleeding and leading-edge technologies and have a hand in shaping GCRTAs IT future. The successful candidate will work independently and collaborate with cross-functional team members focused on resolving network related issues by either phone, email, remote or in person support. The right candidate will be required to travel to various GCRTA locations throughout Cuyahoga County to resolve network issues. Contractor would travel with a full-time employee who would drive an agency vehicle. Being able to multi-task, prioritize, troubleshoot, document, and collaborate with other IT professionals on solutions is key. Education A High School Diploma from an accredited institution is required. An Associate Degree in Networking, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Experience Applicant must have a minimum of four (5) years of relevant networking experience. Experience with implementation, integration of data center, cloud, and end user network, and wireless architecture is required. Extensive Router & Switches experience, specific to Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and Brocade is preferred. Experience in Ticketing Software such as FreshService or equivalent is also preferred. Licenses & Certifications • A valid drivers license is required. • Network + and Cisco CCNA certifications preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required before entering the position • In Depth Network Engineering & Troubleshooting skills • Ability to Manage, Configure, Physical (Cisco) & Virtual (Azure) Firewalls • Understanding of AT&T ASE On Demand, Fatpipes (SDWAN), and Cellular • Working knowledge and principles around IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud Infrastructure • Well established background in WAN /LAN / Wireless Networks • Strong understanding & concept of the 7 Layers of the OSI Network Model • or equivalent • Diagnosis, Troubleshoot Support Multiple off site Locations throughout Cuyahoga County • Detailed understanding of TCP / IP • Functioning knowledge of networking tools such as Lansweeper, PRTG and Resolve complex network issues • Leveraging Tools such as PowerShell, Putty, SSH, Telnet, Wireshark • Wireless Access Point Management specifically Ubiquiti • Site to Site VPN Management • Effective Communication skills • Time Management & Prioritization Knowledge, Skills and Abilities acquired on the job. • Working knowledge of Authoritys hardware and software systems. • Knowledge of Authority policies and procedures. • Knowledge of Authoritys business needs. • Ability to make recommendations for improvement upgrades and redesign. • Ability to document technical systems, and write reports, create diagrams, etc. • Ability to apply new technology to present systems. • Skills in maintaining network patches and switches. • Ability to manage/work on multiple projects at once.
