Description :

MUST BE A GREEN CARD OR US CITIZEN. NO REMOTE WORK, MUST BE ON SITE IN EAST LIBERTY, OH
Complete responsibility of 24X7 availability of 4 IBM i Servers.
Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Identify technical innovation and process improvement opportunities.
Design and implement a comprehensive and ongoing release management and planning program.
Research and recommend appropriate System Administration best practices, and tools.
Monitor and manage backups.
Installation of cumulative PTFs and upgrade packages.
Develop and implement high availability.
Perform operating system and/or application software updates in a timely and thoughtful fashion and in compliance with IT policies, procedures and plans.
Research and recommend solutions to improve business performance and/or reduce cost.
Configure, test, debug and document device and software configurations, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
IBM i Administration
o 5+ years of experience supporting IBM i systems with multiple logical partitions (LPARs) and HMC.
o Experience in AS400 Security Management, Communications, Operating System Upgrades and PTF deployment.
o Experience in independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (iASPs), Storage Based Replication, VIOS and V7000.
o Has performed at least one major system hardware upgrade (for example POWER7 to POWER8).
o Has performed at least one major operating system upgrade (for example, IBM i 5.4 or 6.1 to 7.1).
o Has performed at least one full system restore (site-down / crash).
o Experience in managing partitioned systems.
o Experience in using journaling, especially remote journaling.
o Experience in high availability software (PowerHA) and backups (BRMS).
o Understands the functional differences between logical replication and clustering.
o Experience in MQ and Aldon.
Travel
Ability to travel between Ohio and Indiana locations.
