Contractors services will be provided on an as-needed basis at OJA state offices, at time mutually acceptable to both parties. Two positions are requested – a Level 2 Programmer/Developer (COBOL programmer) and a Level 3 Programmer/Developer (Java/J2EE programmer) The Juvenile On-Line Tracking System (JOLTS) application resides on an IBM iSeries (AS/400) Power 8 running V7R1. Both positions must have a minimum of 5 years experience utilizing this platform. Detailed experience for each position are as follows: Level 2 Programmer/Developer (COBOL Programmer/Database): Bachelors degree and 5+ years experience as a programmer/developer deploying large scale/complex business related applications using the following skills/tools: *Experience with COBOL and AS/400 Control Language (CL). *Experience with IBM DB2 for AS/400 *Experience with DB2 query manager and SQL development Kit *Experience with the Juvenile On-Line Tracking System (JOLTS) a plus Level 3 Programmer/Developer (Web Java/J2EE Programmer): Bachelors degree in Computer Science and 5+ years experience as a programmer/developer utilizing Java/J2EE in a larger scale/complex business environment using the following skills / tools *Experience with IBM WebSphere application development kit (v6/v7/v8) *Experience with the iTEXT PDF generation tool for AS/400 *Experience with IBM DB2 and SQL for AS/400 *Experience using Websphere development Studio for iSeries (AS/400) *Experience using Java Developer Kit on iSeries (AS/400) Deliverables (define the products or work plan to be delivered): The following is representative listing of tasks and services to be performed: • Translating Analysis and Design documents and specifications into programs • Develop data analysis/summary reports as required by utilizing IBM and Microsoft tools • Use application logic to identify and correct data errors • Review COBOL code and CL command language files to support non-database functions • Assist support staff as well as application programmers • Continue conversion process from COBOL application to web-based • Testing, debugging and refining computer software to produce the required product. • Preparing required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation • Enhancing software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. • Includes the coding guidelines and procedures as implemented by OJA into all programs and follows all appropriate standards.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
