This will require the analyst to meet with managers and subject matter experts in the UI call centers where claims are initially processed and adjudicated, the Records & Redeterminations Unit in Central Office, the Training Program Unit in Central Office which administers very specific types of UI benefits, the Benefit Payment Control Unit, and the UI Tax division which has various intersection points with the administration and payment of UI benefits. The work sessions will take approximately 2-3 weeks per work unit, depending on the complexity of claims processing that occurs within the work unit. The analyst will map the work flow using swim lane charts and will convert the charts to a useable digital format upon completion. Analysis will focus on the process, systems used to process the work and current staffing models in each work unit. Analyst will recommend process improvement, possible system improvements, and recommendations for improved staffing models. The analyst will provide the Deputy Administrator with weekly updates via telephone. The analyst will provide the Deputy Administrator with monthly written progress reports. At the conclusion of the work flow analysis and mapping process, the analyst will provide the Agency with a written report that documents the work flow mapping and will contain findings and recommendations.
