Job Description Administrator: DB2 AIX DBA Experience, AIX,(5.2, 5.3, 6.1), SQL, Shell Script UNIX

[Note : Start Date : 11/14/2011
End Date : 06/30/2012]

Short Description:

Work will involve DB2 Database Administration Duties on AIX and Windows platforms.

Complete Description:

This person will be required to perform the following:

-Utilize database tools necessary to create, test, implement, monitor and modify DB2 databases running on AIX and Windows platforms.

-Assist in the design and development of DB2 database procedures, views, functions, constraints, triggers and scripts.

-Develop and maintain database backup and recovery systems and procedures for recovery of lost or damaged data.

-Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support the system.

-Perform database reorganizations and performance tuning regularly and proactively.

-Support installation of database releases into production as directed.

-Assist with DBMS version migrations and upgrades

-Troubleshooting and problem solving of DB2 AIX and Windows development.

-Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner.

-Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

-Communicate accurate and useful status updates.

-Strong communication skills; both written and spoken.

Required Skills :

* DB2 AIX/Windows DBA Experience in a 24x7 production environment
* Experience developing/maintaining database backup and recovery systems/proc
* Performance monitoring and tuning of DB2 AIX/Windows DB
* Extensive Knowledge and use of SQL language
* Shell Scripting for task automation
* Unix

Desired Skills :

* Data warehouse experience
* Experience using Sybase IQ
