Complete Description: The candidate will be responsible for the proper design and coding of multiple Visual Studio and .NET frontend interfaces accessing MS SQL database back ends. These public facing applications will range from medium-to-large scale and will meet functional, performance reliability and availability requirements stipulated by CADD Support. This position will require the individual to have a sound knowledge of architecting complex Visual Studio and .NET applications for proper integration with MS SQL databases that meet current and future technology requirements. The individual must have experience in MSSDLC and maintain state-of-the art knowledge of technologies, planning, design and analysis methodologies. Candidate in this position will analyze program efficiency, research and resolve problems related to access, usage and performance of database; in addition to, suggest improved ways to populate query and report on existing data. Candidate will develop any application components for uploading data, exporting data sheets to Microstation and prepare data for use in reports. Candidate will train CADD Support showing them how to assure data consistency and prepare staff for future support requirements and program expansion. The candidate will be part of a development team that will be tasked to build several frontend applications including websites. The candidate will be responsible to fully coordinate deployment with other team members and use appropriate techniques and technologies during all phases of design, while assisting with mentoring PennDOT staff assigned to the project. Responsibilities: * Serve as the Visual Studio and .NET lead programmer for frontend applications access backend MS SQL database requirements. * Design and code frontend applications to access, update, import, export and report generation for the relational database objects in MS SQL. Databases include: Knowledge database, SOE, BARS, Soil, Profile and Autotab. * Coordinate with development team to build a new Visual Studio .NET solution for Autotab that will support statewide user requirements and business partner needs leveraging state-of-the-art methodologies. * Develop, test and deploy any stored procedures to prepare data for use in Microstation, tabulation sheets, reports, data exports and required uploads to ECMS, Estimator, CDS NextGen and other identified applications to support single data entry requirements. * Develop and establish programming guidelines, standards pertaining to design, use and code security * Meet with end users and technical staff of all types to gather business and system requirements. * Develop program manuals to document procedures for defining, creating, revising, expanding, archiving, backup, recovery and maintenance of identified applications. * Provide technical assistance and assist with mentoring of PennDOT staff assigned to the project.
