The dev – application support engineer will contribute to the continuous improvement of support tooling and procedures as well as thought partnering with the Back Office on how new technology and improvements to the current applications can better support business processes and support activities. This role will act as a secondary response for technical support and will provide assistance to users via telephone, written correspondence, and electronic media. Individuals in this role will need the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Additionally, the support specialist is responsible for participating in an on-call rotation and potentially covering early or late support shifts as needed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Level 1 and Level 2 technical support of the middle office business users and systems environment • Solving time-sensitive issues in a complex technical environment • Operating as a good citizen in a robust change management framework • Provide well thought-out and lasting solutions that are documented and supportable • Implementation of application releases and scheduled changes ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: • Under graduate level computing/math based qualification or equivalent experience (ideally 1-3+ years in a tech support role) • Threshold level understanding of Back Office / Trade processing business • Experience of working in a high pressure environment alongside business users • Strong SQL scripting experience and familiarity with MS SQL server and stored procedures/functions • Experience with PowerShell and Python is a plus • Strong verbal and written communication skills ESSENTIAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: • Comfort level writing and manipulating SQL across large, complex relational databases using various database administration tools (eg. SSMS, BIDS) • Experience writing scripts to automate tasks on Windows servers and desktops (e.g. PowerShell,.BAT,VB, Python) • Working knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure, management tools and processes (e.g. ProcMon, Event log, Splunk, Registry Editor) • Working knowledge of application frameworks, including .NET, Visual Basic and Python and ability to use Visual Studio • Strong knowledge of IIS and how to deploy, manage and troubleshoot IIS applications • Working knowledge of Windows desktop application deployment and troubleshooting, including Excel macros and add-ins   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
