Description : ------------------------------------------------------ The Commerce Enterprise Project Manager will be expected to complete and/or initiate 2-3 large to medium sized projects that are associated with the agencys strategic framework. These projects are focused on developing and/or implementing new solutions across the enterprise. DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Deputy Secretary of Commerce (and/or Secretary of Commerce), the EPM will lead the planning, analysis, design, execution, and implementation of the Strategic Framework along with other initiatives critical to the agencys successes. Gathers requirements from customers and/or colleagues to build business cases, specifications, aligns personnel and defines the project scope used to address agency needs, resolve business challenges, and attain project goals. Ensures the delivery of quality solutions that support the agencys mission and strategic plans. Implement a project management platform (if needed) by collaborating with IMT (Information Management and Technology Division) for initial software configuration and communicate with project teams to collect and analyze information about business processes. Clarify design expectations, develops functional requirements, identifies and eliminates potential roadblocks, builds project templates, and understand workflow needs in order to design, configure, and successfully deliver the platform across business units. Generate custom reports (e.g., project status, budget, metrics, and resource allocation), and create standard and customized dashboards to produce key insights for executive and leadership reporting and decision-making. Motivate and actively lead conversations regarding use cases and capabilities and solicit user feedback and suggestions. Empower the project team to make meaningful contributions. Promote integration with existing tools and reporting to streamline processes and accelerate project/reporting delivery. Gather and analyze historical data to inform and suggest updates to existing templates/objects. Train applicable stakeholders in reporting and analysis for respective business areas. Continuously assess system and business direction changes for impacts to existing designs and develop new capabilities to support business objectives. Provide high level of customer service to executive leadership and key stakeholders by providing metric data related to business objectives while continually improving reporting models to achieve strategic decisions. REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): • #1:Advanced knowledge of project management principles, policies, and methodologies. • #2:Ability to collect and document business requirements and document technical solutions. • #3: Ability to build strong interdepartmental management skills. • #4: Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to prepare reports, documents, and presentations geared to fellow team members, customers, and/or executive management.
