This position involves monitoring radio frequencies, maintaining radio equipment, and responding to both routine and emergency communication needs. The initial contract will be for 30-90 but is subject to extension upon good performance. 1 employee needed for the following shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (Mon-Tues) Tasks include: Perform mobile radio installations and removals in various vehicle classes, including dump trucks and emergency response vehicles. Conduct antenna checks, including assessments of RF power output and VSWR measurements. Carry out preventive maintenance of remote site equipment and infrastructure, using a standardized checklist and documenting findings. Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair of mobile radios, primarily focusing on DC power issues and antenna-related problems. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all radio communication transmitted over the systems. Perform basic bench testing for both mobile and portable radios. This includes measuring transmitter RF output power, modulation and frequency, receiver sensitivity, and audio output. Program mobile and portable radios using specialized laptop computers, ensuring accurate and efficient communication setup. Carry out preventive maintenance on remote site equipment and infrastructure, including emergency power generators. Utilize a standardized checklist for maintenance tasks and document measurements and findings accurately. Assist in controlling and documenting fixed assets, ensuring accurate tracking and management of equipment. Work closely with partners (e.g., law enforcement, emergency services) and other communication centers to coordinate resources for incidents affecting communication networks. Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in the role Required Qualifications: · High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, and, · A valid Tennessee drivers license, and, · Ability to work in an office, laboratory, warehouse, or field environment, and, · One year of post-secondary education in a field related to radio installation and maintenance, plus, · Two years of experience in radio installation, testing, and maintenance, or, · If no formal related post-secondary education, four years of experience in low-voltage technology or radio installation, testing, and maintenance. Preferred Qualifications: · Certification(s) from a recognized organization documenting proficiency in installation, testing, and maintenance of low voltage technologies and/or radio technologies, plus, · Five years of relevant experience.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
