Additionally, the Database Engineer will be called upon to design and implement highly custom large scale database solutions that augment Fiserv?s products. On occasion, the Database Engineer will be asked to evaluate, size and select technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and application databases across the organization. Focusing more broadly on projects that impact multiple areas of Fiserv?s products, the Database Engineer will work directly with external clients using both analytical skills and subject matter expertise in financial applications to gather requirements, design solutions and execute implementations. Job Responsibilities Create migration designs that meet the projects business, system and data requirements. Create conceptual, logical and physical database models to support project requirements. Conduct model reviews and solicit feedback from other design team members and database engineers on the content, accuracy and completeness of the data model. Participate in both design sessions and processes for assigned projects and teams. Identify appropriate resources and work with them to resolve any open data-related issues, decisions or research items that were identified in the design sessions. Perform extensive analysis of database entities, relationships and attributes. Respond to data design problems and attempt to find solutions in a timely manner. Mentor staff by reviewing deliverables and coaching utilizing peer review processes. Develop, installs, configures and supports multi-terabyte SQL Server database environments. Design and develops database applications using SQL Server Integration Services, TSQL and Stored Procedures. Candidate Attributes Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Proven project management experience. Strong understanding of the organization?s goals and objectives. Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Job Requirements Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4-6+ years experience in database development with SQL Server. In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows Server 2003/2008. Application development experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including C#. Extensive development experience in analysis, modeling and design of database solutions. Able to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, in large meeting settings and when presenting to large groups, in both technical and non-technical arenas. Research, analyze and interpret information in a clear and concise manner. Able to understand and convey technical issues to non-technical associates, and vice-versa.
