Working for the USBE is a rare opportunity to use a combination of the latest technologies, best-of-breed software packages and custom development to deploy a refreshed code base and associated reporting applications and reports. We are looking for a self-organized, dedicated SDET Engineer to take responsibility for ensuring a high-quality end product. The SDET Engineer will work closely with the software team to understand the underlying code, perform testing in parallel to the development activity, and be responsible for working toward the goal for 100% code coverage with automated tests. To be successful, the SDET Engineer will interact and understand end user software requirements, develop product or domain knowledge, participate in product or software design, and build test automation tools. The SDET Engineer will report, track and determine the severity of reported defects and will work with the team to ensure successful project completion. Responsibilities: • Attend sprint-planning sessions, daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives (identifying what went wrong and what went right in the current sprint) • Perform testing in parallel to the development activity • Meet with developers for short hand-off demonstrations • Document test cases • Learn new lessons and best practices from the current sprint • Provide value by thinking differently about the various scenarios to test a story • Write new user stories that would help in testing and what would help the customer • Develop and maintain test plans, manual and automated test scripts for user interface, functionality, system, and ad-hoc testing • Create and maintain automated test scripts to validate the system at various phases of the software development lifecycle (e.g., integration test suite, regression test suite, smoke test suite, etc.) • Execute regression and functional tests • Work toward the goal of 100% code coverage with automated tests • Report, track and determine the severity of reported defects • Work with system analysis and product management for the successful completion of a project Qualifications: The qualifications and criteria on which candidates will be evaluated are listed below.
