Optional extensions are a possibility up to nine months at the sole discretion of the UW**] Description : Project Scope of Work: The incumbent will provide senior-level systems design, development, programming, implementation, consultation, maintenance and support for the SAGE Project, an electronic grants management system used by the faculty, staff and grant administrators at the University of Washington to procure and administer research grants and contracts. Other essential functions include providing technical leadership and expertise for systems development colleagues and providing expert consultation to clients and systems managers. This position directly supports the research mission of the University. Responsibilities include: • Provide senior level systems design, development, programming, and consultation for distributed architecture business and academic support systems which employ web-based technologies, object-oriented and relational databases and client/server computing platforms. • Design and implement application architectures that meet customer needs. • Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, and customers to gather and compile requirements for new applications software. • Design application systems and programs based on agreed upon requirements. • Program and implement systems and applications. • Design, develop, and implement interfaces and web services to existing database systems. • Serve as a technical expert in the evaluation and testing of the capabilities, characteristics, and requirements of existing and emerging information systems technologies. The Software Engineer will work on-site at the UW and have a work schedule of Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm. Additional work hours may be requested if required to meet project deadlines. Mandatory Requirements : Vendors who do not meet the following mandatory qualifications may be rejected as non-responsive and may not receive further consideration. Any proposal that is rejected as non-responsive will not be evaluated and no score will be assigned. The Vendor must be licensed to do business in the State of Washington. The Vendor must be willing to sign a Contract/Work Order with terms substantially the same as the sample contract and its general terms and conditions attached as Exhibit B The Proposed Candidate must be available to work in the Seattle area. Proposed Candidate Qualifications - Candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications: • Minimum of 7 years recent experience with MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 database design, query optimization, troubleshooting, stored procedure development, T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Profiler. Experience to include a minimum of 5 years developing production web applications and web services with managed code (ASP.net, C# required) MVC experience a plus. • High level of proficiency with ASP.net, 4.0 using C#, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XSLT, REST/WCF, XML/DOM, XSLT, SSL/Client Certificate experience, scheduled tasks. • Demonstrated experience in object-oriented design, development, implementation and support of object/relational database systems, web application design and development, user interface design and systems documentation. • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio/TFS, IIS 6+. • Passion for quality, demonstrated by a high level of experience in unit/integration test automation. • Ability to understand high-level architecture and design content and   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
