The candidate will be expected to: • Provide administrative support for Windows servers in a highly available, 24x7 enterprise environment • Work across several teams to restore service rapidly during an incident • In-depth root cause analysis for ongoing issues • Analysis of incident data to discover trending and patterns • Recommend & create scripts for system automation for improved proactive monitoring • Identify opportunities for system automation and process improvement • Identification of single points of failure that require remediation • Participate in ongoing operational projects • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise • Document issues and associated resolutions to problems • Participate in OS patch management and coordination • Create in-depth documentation of processes and system configuration • Provide and receive cross training from immediate support team • Drive Continual Service Improvement Specialized knowledge, skills, abilities Minimum five years of experience with Windows platforms to include but not limited to the following: • Strong written and verbal communication, as well as, organization and documentation skills. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration and engineering. • Knowledge of PCI Remediation and various audit requirements and remediation efforts. • Scripting – preferably VBScript or Powershell. • Working knowledge and experience with Systems Center Configuration Manager “SCCM”, Systems Center Operations Manager “SCOM” • Dell OpenManage • Experience with a ticketing system – preferably Remedy • Active Directory, LDAP Directory services, Domain Name Services “DNS”, Windows Internet Name Service “WINS”, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol “DHCP”. • Experience with clustering, Microsoft SQL Clustering preferred. • IIS – Starting, stopping, configuration, installation of certificates, troubleshooting application pools and tuning. • Crash dump analysis. • Knowledge of Windows Servers (2003, 2008, 2012) • Support and Knowledge of Altiris. • Administration and knowledge of VMWARE ESX, vSphere,Strong understanding of data communication concepts and network/software configuration management. • Familiar with standard security best practices. • Strong customer service skills to deliver quality results in a demanding environment. • Able to work well under pressure and within short time constraints. • Individual must interact extensively with all levels of management, business and IT, and is required to act in a professional and confident manner. • Self-motivator possessing a high sense of urgency and a high level of integrity.
