Client Info : COMSYS Job Description: Provide architectural oversight and information security review for data center modernization. Ensure identification and implementation of appropriate controls for solutions/systems/interfaces across platforms and applications. Perform risk/vulnerability assessments, consult with stakeholders to help define requirements, work to understand secure options, and design specific systems, applications, or processes for a complex and demanding operational environment. A strong technical background in application and network security is required. Implement the Risk Management Framework for the DOJ. Select security controls applicable to DOJ information systems and conduct a comprehensive assessment of the management, operational, and technical security controls employed within or inherited by DOJs information systems to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls. Provide an assessment of the severity of weaknesses or deficiencies discovered in the information system and its environment of operation and recommend corrective actions to address identified vulnerabilities. This position may also administer and help support various Information Security Management programs and initiatives related to computer security, policy and procedures, awareness training, audit coordination, legal matters, legislation and regulatory compliance. Essential Functions: • Consults and directs identification of alternative uses of technologies that will enhance current or anticipated information systems and that support overall corporate and business goals that are appropriately aligned with the enterprise architecture. • Work with DOJs business units to identify security requirements based on security impact levels • Work with DOJ IT system owners to identify, select and assess technical controls. • Develop and validates baseline security configurations for operating systems, applications, and networking and telecommunications equipment. • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the management, operational and technical security controls applicable to DOJ systems • Report to DOJ Management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities and other security exposures and noncompliance • Assist in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation. • Define security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems • Play an advisory role in application development or acquisition projects to assess security requirements and controls and to ensure that security controls are implemented as planned. • Participate in the Change Advisory Board to access impact of changes to security posture of systems • Collaborate on critical IT projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle. • Develop security processes and procedures, and supports service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that security controls are managed and maintained. • Advise security administrators on normal and exception-based processing of security authorization requests. • Conduct annual table top exercise for Contingency and Business Continuity Plan • Assist in the development of security architecture and security policies, principles and standards. • Participate in the enterprise architecture (EA) community, and provides strategic guidance during the EA process. • Research, evaluates, designs, tests, recommends and plans the implementation of new or updated information security technologies. • Research and assesses new threats and secur   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
