Description: Re-write all functions the Drinking Water System (DWS) from Oracle Forms & Reports into ASP.Net. The re-write of the very complex system will take an estimated 4-5 years. By identifying subsets of functionality that can be developed in a stepped approach, we are rolling out the product in several work-specific modules. Develop a replacement to the current DWS with the same general functionality and include modifications as necessary to address changes from user requests, administrative rule changes and previously identified bug fixes and enhancements to create a system that has improved performance, improved user experience and data entry accuracy, and more functionality than the current system. Update system authentication and authorization. Remove obsolete reports and evaluate new reporting tools, developing new reports if time and money allow. Evaluate correspondence generation to see if more interactive letters can be created and develop those letters if time and money allow. The current funding sources and amounts continue DNR/DET will continue to provide the environment and support for our servers, database and development tools Constraints: Program staff and contracted developer time available to dedicate to this project, adequate resource availability given possible staff turnover, DNR/DET deployment freezes, mandatory IT upgrade and migration related impacts to IT staff resources, ability to find an adequate development tool to build reports.
