• An initial 20-minute technical exam. Camera, audio and screen-sharing are required. Applicants should ensure they are able to login promptly for the interview and ability to screen share.

Description :

The Department of Natural Resources Division of External Services (EX), Bureau of Environmental Analysis and Sustainability is seeking applicants for an Application Architect II. This position involves activities to design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications in .NET. The External Services Division has multiple applications relied upon for core business needs, includingmaintenance for Environmental Licensing Certification System, Laboratory Certification and Laboratory Data Entry Systems. The developer needs to provide reliable, responsive support and updates to these systems. This project requires part-time (17 hrs/week - flexible) work for a candidate with advanced .Net developer skillsets and experience as it will depend on the maintenance needs as they arise.

The most qualified candidate will have:
• Ability to work independently utilizing critical thinking and discretionary decision-making skill sets.
• Moderate level application development skillsets including Analysis and Development within Microsoft .Net Framework.
• Experience applying Object Oriented Design.
• Coding experience in ASP.Net MVC and/or .Net Core framework, including C#, VB.NET, HTML, XML, XSLT, CSS Javascript and Bootstrap.
• Experience applying Standard Security methods to custom applications.
• Experience creating web APIs.
• Experience developing applications with Oracle backend databases including experience writing stored procedures and SQL.
• Experience working in Visual Studio as well as Azure DevOps including keeping work items updated in addition to code management.
• Experience with coding standards and best practices.
• Experience with testing tasks such as identifying test scenarios, test data setup, execution, and documenting test results.
• Experience utilizing the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and following IT Best Practices
• Experience resolving technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
• Experience following Iterative/Agile/Scrum Methodologies for completing projects from Initiation through Implementation and Maintenance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborates with others and is a team player to ensure project success.

Additional skillsets that will also be helpful:
• Experience writing technical documentation.
• Experience with SharePoint.
• Experience working in Government.

This position will work at the direction of the DNR IT Supervisor, Application Architect, Business Relationship Manager, Project Manager, andprogram Leads, utilizing DNR IT standards, software and tools. Tasks of this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Orienting self to current applications by working with others
2. Identifying a solution/design working in collaboration with project team members.
