No WI residency is required. Description : This position resides in the Departments Bureau of Computing Services (BCS). Under the supervision of the Deputy IT Director, this position provides department-wide project management services for the development of primarily web-based systems in a highly complex, highly integrated environment across multiple platforms. Manages one or more cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity. A more senior role, with responsibility for multiple large, complex projects with more significant impact to the enterprise. Responsibilities • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams. • Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMIs framework. • Understands business and technical objectives of a project, and works closely with project sponsor. • Creates project charter and work plan, and tracks budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics. • Establishes project organization and methodologies, and defines roles and responsibilities. • Documents risks and develops mitigation plans. Manages scope. • Creates and implements a communication plan. • Builds an effective project team, assigns tasks to team members, and evaluates outcomes. • Negotiates resources and collaborates to resolve resource conflicts. • Communicates to stakeholders and project sponsors. • Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers. Provides technical support to project team members. • Handles complex application features and technical designs. Designs and implements the components required for complex application features. • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Participate in improvements to the PMO program and ensure industry best practices are leveraged Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in agile project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques. • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience. • 10 or more years of IT project management experience. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well while effectively influencing the actions and opinions of others • Excellent planning, organization and project management skills in an Application Development Environment with the ability to prioritize and coordinate many different project tasks while setting appropriate goals and deadlines • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
