Facilitate the development, creation and administration of assigned databases for business needs by gathering and reviewing business requirements, escalating issues, clarifying inquiries with key stakeholders and partnering with multiple infrastructure teams to support the delivery of effective technologies for the achievement of corporate objectives. • Align with database engineering project timelines and guidelines by reviewing business requirements and completing assigned workload in a timely and efficient manner to ensure alignment with key stakeholder objectives • Partner with key stakeholders as needed by clarifying inquiries on business requirements and recommending effective strategies for database engineering plans to jointly visualize deployment of software and support proper sequencing for project lifecycle • Execute effective database engineering by installing and configuring software and monitoring performance of applications to identify and troubleshoot basic issues and ensure continual functioning and alignment with business needs • Develop database engineering skill-set by participating in cross-training and learning innovative tools and procedures to support the achievement of department objectives and optimize engineering operations • Support vendor management initiatives by communicating with vendors as needed, sharing business needs and reviewing software options to share recommendations with senior leadership and communicate plans to align deployment with organizational objectives and streamline integration into existing systems • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value “can do” people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun Education Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Degree in Computer Science Experience 5 years relevant experience Experience Experience database engineering; experience working with in-house and vended database engineering solutions; administrative experience; troubleshooting experience within an IT function Knowledge • Working knowledge of multiple technical platforms utilized in area of responsibility o SQL Server versions 2005/2008/2012/2016 o Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 o Configuration and support of Windows Native Clustering and SQL Clustering and SQL Always ON technology technology o Experience in advanced batch & PowerShell scripting o Knowledge of backup technologies (Avamar, SQL Native backups, Idera SQLSafe) o Knowledge of monitoring tools (Idera Diagnostic Manager, Foglight) o Oracle database knowledge 11.2.0 (desirable but not essential) o Knowledge of SQL, store procedures, packages and functions (desirable but not essential) o Service Now knowledge (desirable but not essential) • Working knowledge of fundamental IT concepts, systems, platforms, tools and technologies, hardware, software and services • ITIL framework knowledge • Applied knowledge of technology to control and safeguard the collection, organization, structure, processing and delivery of data • Applied knowledge of programming, coding and scripting in various languages Skills • Support the implementation and execution of business-aligned databases in various format   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
