Position: Systems Administrator - Storage Location: Thousand Oaks, CA Duration: 6 months plus This Specialist Systems Administrator position is part of the Storage Refresh team in Application Hosting Services within the Enterprise Services organization, and is responsible for supporting storage refresh activities in the project including, but not limited, capacity analysis, growth analysis, technical detalis for migration of NetApp systems, business analysis, and other tasks in a globally deployed NAS environment. The successful candidate will primarily be supporting the Storage Refresh project, but may also be providing support to critical projects as needed (e.g. GBDS). The primary responsibility of this position is as a technical support SME for NAS storage refresh activities in in a complex environment. The environment contains multiple platforms of NetApp hardware & software, as well as other infrastructure products. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices for the environment - and for storage refresh. Job Responsibilities Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be a delivered on an ongoing basis. Responsible for ongoing management of configuration and layout of storage infrastructure as it applies to storage refresh or other assigned projects. Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with NetApp best practices and Company change management policies. Designs data migration architecture as required. Responsible for Runbook Design, Development, and ongoing updates. Responsible for ongoing recommendations and best practices, as applicable, for the following areas: Business Continuity, High Availability, Backup, Recovery and Archiving. Responsible for Capacity Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning and design as applicable. Provides ITIL Process Planning as applicable. Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable. Particiate in storage migrations activities as needed, including weekends. Provide 24x7 support as needed. Basic Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess the following skills/experience: NCDA certified minimum. 5 years experience with NetApp technology is a must. Installation of cluster into a SAN environment. Cabling a Multi-Path Highly Available cluster in both a SAN environment and with NetApp storage shelves. Diagnose and resolve various controller to shelf connectivity issues. Identify and consult on best practices to assist customer in avoiding provisioning issues. System clustering and testing to verify expected functionality in customers environment. Ether channel architecture and knowledge - port channeling concepts and VLAN concepts are a must. NFS concepts including (but not limited to) netgroups, NFS export interaction, NFS export cache, performance and troubleshooting, collecting perfstat analysis files and analysis or excellent case resolution skills utilizing NetApp support. MPHA and software ownership concepts on a V-series cluster. De-duplication and snapshot experience. Quotas experience. SnapMirror concepts including both volume and qtree level SnapMirror technology. Data migration experience including moving SnapMirror sources from old systems to new systems. NDU - Non-Disruptive Upgrade experience critical in a high-uptime, mission critical environment a must.
