A high degree of expertise is required with technologies such as Java, Java EE and SQL besides the domain business knowledge. The Analyst Developer will operate effectively at a regional level (and sometimes at a global level), building relationships with other members of the local (and global) development team, GOI team and Architecture teams, and will ensure that the business needs are met in the fast faced trading environment. Key Accountabilities: Work closely with the business teams to deliver robust technical solutions Make recommendations to solve business problems measured by feedback from key business users to the Regional Delivery Manager. Collaborate with team members to design successful project solutions. Measured by feedback from the team to Regional Delivery Manager on a monthly basis. Work with other developers, Business Analysts and testers as part of the wider team within Global Oil Information Technology and Services. Contribute to the overall implementation of tactical/strategic projects as part of the development team. Undertake analysis of systems, business processes, data and interfaces. Supplement the existing Regional applications support team to provide application/system support to the regional applications Assist with establishing an effective environment for rapid application development in the trading arena Ensure that all projects are brought to Regional Delivery Managers attention for review and prioritization Escalate and alert Regional Delivery Manager of any major incidents encountered within 24 hours of incident. Ensure that application rollouts are coordinated and there is effective collaboration with architecture, GOI and other support teams. Record and track all development and support work in the appropriate systems Provide status reports to Regional Delivery Manager on a weekly basis highlighted progress for individual and team Essential Criteria & Qualifications Essential Technical: Extensive experience in development and support of web based and WPF based solutions with business knowledge in Finance and Structured Products or Oil and other aspects of the Energy industry. Able to function in a fast paced, high pressure environment where satisfying requirements on time is paramount Deep expertise with a range of technologies such as Java, Java EE and SQL Familiarity with Object Oriented analysis and design Familiarity with agile development methodologies Experience gathering and documenting system requirements Experience in designing multi-tiered applications, services. In depth knowledge of design patterns, design best practices and modern GUI framework architecture (MVC/MVP/MVVM/MVPVM) Good understanding of integration technologies e.g. TIBCO EMS, Web Services, JSON,REST, Socket Communications Strong understanding of programming paradigms such as distributed architectures and multi-threaded programme design Excellent multi-tasking, problem solving & analytical skills Strong written & verbal communication skills Motivated, proactive & independent.
