HP OpenView Administrator/Engineer

Description:
Our Monitoring Strategies Team is looking for a consultant that has experience with hardware and software monitoring tools.
The job will entail all aspects of deployment and usage of the HP OpenView Tool.
Will help analyze, document and deploy using a best practice strategy for usage of the HP OpenView Tool.
Will create clear concise business requirements for monitoring needs.
Will create designs and write technical specifications to meet the business requirements. Will test thoroughly new scripts or templates before deployment.
Will participate in team reviews and will adhere to standards developed within the team.

Specific duties will include:
Actively involved in OVO message analysis, i.e., eliminating/suppressing unwanted messages, modifying thresholds, etc.
Develop, test, and implement OVO policies for system and application monitoring.
Implementation and customization of HP OVO SPI (Weblogic, DB, OS, etc)
OVO administration duties such as adding new users and new message groups, etc.
Creating Documentation of all aspects of job as necessary.
Scripting using OVO / Basemon Perl.


Required Skills:
HP OpenView Administration experience.
HP OVO-U and NNM integration experience with 3rd party tools is a plus.
HP OVO Certification
HP OVO Agent Experience 5 -10 years (Troubleshooting, Installing, Configuration) HP OVPI HP OVPM HP OVO / Basemon Perl Scripting background(VB) Perl Coding Windows - (MoM) Unix - (Patrol/SAM/ITM)

4 yr degree and 10+ years technical experience in web systems environments which includes web application installations, upgrades, and deployment as well as any server/system that supports hosted web applications.

These Additional Skills are a plus:
CA Wily Introscope / CEM suite of tools a plus.
