The selected candidate will work with NCIC and must be able to successfully complete the following tasks: ? Perform an upgrade from the Kofax Ascent Capture software (7.5) to the Kofax Capture (9.0) on production environment, maintaining the viability and operability of existing batch classes ? Extend the capabilities of existing batch classes to take advantage of enhancements in version 9 ? Design and develop a solution using the Kofax Capture features for scanning, indexing, and data capture from agency standard forms and other documents ? Extract important information such as machine-printed text, bar codes, hand-printed words, checked boxes, and other marks, as appropriate ? Map extracted data to defined database structure, and coordinate with agency DBA for insertion of data into appropriate tables ? Use the same indexing and validation process to capture information from documents submitted electronically ? Solution design and implementation must include automated exception handling and classification of recognized and unrecognized document types ? Coordinate with agency IT staff to develop test plans for all scripts, batch classes, programs or applications developed ? Ensure that testing and validation of operability and functionality of same are completed successfully. This initiative will lead to a subsequent effort defined by the NCIC as the Electronic Document and Fee Portal (EDFP) initiative. The candidate selected for this effort must provide excellent technical documentation that will be referenced for support and subsequent enhancements as defined by the EDFP initiative. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required ? Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Kofax Ascent Capture Software programmer and administrator (v7.5 and higher) ? Prior experience promoting from Kofax Ascent Capture Software 7.5 to Kofax Capture 9.0; as well as success designing process improvement solutions and implementing these using the Kofax Ascent Capture Software. ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills ? Demonstrated ability to develop technical documentation of the delivered solution ? Independent; self-starter ? Proven experience working successfully in a team environment.
