The vital systems that are monitored 24/7 are the hardware/software and network systems that support the activities of the entire Access Link operation. The hardware includes servers and routers; the software includes the transit-specific scheduling & dispatching software, web applications & IVR applications; the networks include connectivity to the main operating location and remote user locations. In developing the new scope of services, The Techical Writer will be guided by the scope of services for the existing vendor contract which is due to expire at the end of 2011. The Technical Writer is required to be articulate, professional, cooperative and a clear communicator. Work performed must be organized, documented, supported and referenced in a clear, concise and complete manner. Must be willing to work with all levels of personnel on internal staff, service providers, vendors and contractors. Must be technical knowledgeable in all aspects of system environments, hardware, software, custom application, telecomm, networks (wireless and hardline) and WEB based applications. "TW 3 (Lead)- Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years. Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study. Role Description: All roles specified in TW 1 & 2 --- Develop, enhance, and maintain user documentation for multiple applications including documentation required for the operations provider. Work with Application Team members to ensure that system requirements are adequately translated into the RFP document. Communicate accurate and useful status updates. Manage and report time spent on all work activities. Research problems before approaching Lead Technical Writer or Team Lead for assistance. Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner. Identify business and technical documentation needs not currently addressed.
