The Functional Architect is also responsible for bringing an understanding of the enterprise, business system and industry to the team(s) supporting or interfacing with the application. The primary responsibility of a Functional Architect is to define and document the functional requirements needed to develop an application based on the current and /or future business process. The Functional Architect will also prepare and review designs, to recommend improvements, and to provide guidance during the testing process. The Functional Architect helps the Software Engineers establish a clear understanding of the business functional requirements and either creates the functional designs to meet the requirements or reviews and approves the designs written by the Software Engineer. Deliverables: Experience: Six plus years of experience Education: Four year college degree or equivalent technical study Description of skills and knowledge include but are not limited to: Analyze, determine, and document functional requirements. Gather and interpret requirements into design specifications. Understand specific business needs and overall business strategy of the business customer. Provide standard, well-structured work planning which defines scope, resources, commitments, quality, risk, tasks, and acceptance criteria. Ensure that overall application designs remain within project scope. Work with customer business units to understand their business processes. Ensure business requirements are supported by the software. May supervisor other contracts Required Skills: Experience with Idaho Benefits Eligibility System (IBES). Software programming experience.
