Description :

BACKGROUND/PURPOSE:
North Carolina State Universitys Office of Information Technology (OIT), Enterprise Application Services
(EAS) seeks quotes from qualified individuals or firms with expertise in Oracle PeopleSoft HRMS, version 8.9
and 9.1. The contractor will work with customers in the business offices (HRIM and HR Employment), an
external vendor, and the IT Enterprise Application Services group to implement a new interface between the
NC States PeopleSoft HR System and a third party I-9 Management system (Lawlogix). We expect the
contractor to work independently with internal units and the vendor to gather and define requirements, design
and spec the new solution, and perform configuration and development required to complete the
implementation.

CONTRACT PERIOD:
The engagement shall begin on or about January 3, 2012 and continue for approximately 12 weeks (470 hours).
One individual (selected during the evaluation process) shall be provided for the duration of the engagement.
The University reserves the right to cancel any resulting contract with 24 hours notice at any point during any
resulting contract.

SCOPE OF SERVICES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The awarded candidate shall report to the HR Business Analysis Manager and will be responsible for the
following:
1. Work with the I-9 System vendor (Lawlogix) and our customers in the HRIM and Employment units of
Human Resources to define business and technical requirements for the interface.
2. Leverage expertise in the functionality and data schema of the HR system and experience with Web
Services integration to provide direction for design decisions and develop functional and technical
specifications to ensure that the results meets customer requirements.
3. Document all requirements, business process and workflow, specifications, and test plans required for
the implementation.
4. Develop the required Web Service calls to the vendors site using PeopleTools, as required by the
vendors specifications.
5. Perform other analysis and development tasks for core HR functionality related to the upgrade of NC
States PeopleSoft HCM system to version 9.1, as time allows beyond the implementation of the
interface to Lawlogix.
6. All work will be performed on campus at NC State University in Raleigh, NC.
7. The contractor is expected to work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday (8 Hours per day) or
Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS or HCM version 8.9,
9.0, or 9.1, focused on the core HR (Person, Job, Position, etc.) module, is required. The successful candidate
will have participated in multiple implementations of system integrations to PeopleSoft HCM. Expert
knowledge of PeopleSoft core HR data structures, configuration and setup, and business processes within the
application is required. Candidates shall also demonstrate experience in the following:
1. Working with mixed teams of business customers and vendors to gather requirements and map them to
application and integration designs and functional specifications.
2. Implementation of systems integrations, specifically utilizing PeopleTools Integration Broker and
PeopleCode calls to initiate Web Services messages. This experience must be with PeopleSoft HCM
version 8.9 and preferably also in 9.0 or 9.1.
3. Prior University experience working in a relevant role is desired.
