The analysis will include: How the agency is structured to provision and manage network services The overall network architecture (wired and wireless) The technology base upon which the network is structured (wired and wireless) Costs Capacity Current capacity requirements Future capacity requirements Network services Baseline performance levels Desired performance requirements Security Other as determined in coordination with the client The analyst will also analyze the clients current and forecasted business requirements to determine current and future network capacity needs and services; and analyze other IT services that will drive network demand. Other IT services include, but are not limited to video teleconferencing, unified communications, VoIP, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Finally, the analyst will conduct a business case analysis to determine if the Agency should continue to provision and manage its own network services, outsource all network services to the agencys parent organizations IT department, or some combination of the two (i.e., retain some network services while turning other services over to the parent organization to manage). Primary Responsibilities: Perform the analysis as described in the paragraphs above Produce a report that documents the current network environment Determine future network requirements (as driven by future and forecasted business requirements) Identify gaps between the current environment and what will be needed to support future requirements Conduct a business case analysis as described above. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree (or higher) in an IT, IT Management, Business or related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing, operating, analyzing networks and network services A minimum of 5 years operating in a federal government setting Preferred Skills/Experience: Prior experience with scientific research organizations Experience meeting the network demands generated through biomedical research Professional Skills: Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude Ability to manage relationships with senior staff Superior writing skills   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
