This project will provide agency staff, applicants and reviewers a single access point for all Forest Practices products, services and work. The scope for Discovery is limited to the research, planning and creation of artifacts necessary to design, build, implement and maintain the Forest Practices Integrated Business Information System. (1) The Discovery Phase will confirm and update the current requirements needed to incorporate e-business into Forest Practices Application/Notification (FPA/N) processing, including the need to track FPA/Ns from submittal through close-out. The starting point will be to use the 2008 FPARS requirements analysis and 2008 FPARS design specifications, and applicable business needs information generated from initial user story collection efforts and interviews with business stakeholders; (2) Review the requirements against the ability for each solution listed below to meet those requirements, a. a COTS/SaaS solution, b. a FPARS enhancement solution, c. a custom-built solution, and d. a hybrid enhancement/custom-built/COTS/SaaS solution Include any updates needed to bring the solution into compliance with current Department IT standards, and any additional components needed to meet functional requirements, including any necessary connections to other Department systems; (3) Estimate the cost of developing each solution listed above; (4) Estimate the 5-year costs related to maintenance for each solution; and (5) Compare cost, governance, timing and other factors that may be important to the successful implementation of these options.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
