Ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the DET and DETs customers. Typically requires a bachelors degree in area of specialty and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. This position will work within a team and will help lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The person will typically reports to a supervisor working very closely with senior technicians and customers. The State of Wisconsin is transitioning to new methods of mainframe print for remote customers. This position is to assist customers with different types of printing issues which could include issues with the network connection, workstation, print server, or the mainframe print software.This contracting position requires excellent customer service skills working with remote customers. Qualified candidates would have the following experience: Networking experience (how a printer is connected across the WAN to the host), Windows operating system skills, some UNIX experience, excellent problem solving skills, excellent customer service skills in working with remote customers via teleconference, project management skills, and print technology skills. A well qualified candidates would also have experience with printer definitions in InfoPrint server, familiar with mainframe technology, and worked with print protocols such as AFP, PCO, and PostScript.
