Job Description : PIM RFP: The Aftermarket Retail Development area is responsible for representing the Mack and Volvo truck brands in North America and is responsible for growing sales, profit, and customer satisfaction. It has been recognized that clear and consistent communication around parts information including attributes typically held in a master data system is needed to support the customer and the growth of the parts sales area within Retail Development. Volvo has invested in a Parts Information Management (PIM) system for proprietary parts (GLOPPS) but does not have a centralized system for vendor parts (also known as All Makes or Vendor Direct Ship Parts (VDSP)). The current VDSP business is roughly 21% of the overall aftermarket parts business. PIM is a foundational need to grow the All Makes business and to support development and sustainability of key business initiatives already in progress: PartsASIST eCommerce, SPEB Core Management, VDSP negotiation supported by Purchasing, Fleets end-to-end digital parts transactions, Quoting and NA Digital Marketing Systems. A single source of truth for NA vendor parts information is needed to meet our customers basic needs. The aim of this project is to select a product and service that will offer Master Data Management capabilities, enable part attribute enhancement, support clear communications to support solutions such as E-commerce solutions, improve and simplify the information submission process by Volvo Suppliers, and integrate seamlessly with upstream and downstream existing systems for NA vendor parts. The architect should review the requirements, sit in on the supplier presentations and really be able to understand the need and challenge the proposals. That app should be decommissioned. An API should be created for that data. Master Data Management/MDM architect who will be responsible for designing & building the Dealer/Dealer User master data model both physical & logical. Its hard to find an architect with both skillsets but our biggest need is for physical modeler/architect at this point. It is important that the architect be experienced in 1) designing master data model solutions & Data Governance principles if possible. I do want to emphasize that we need a knowledgeable MDM Architect. We are currently gathering business requirements and we need this architect to start designing the master data model. The integration points of the current NACDB solution are very extensive (40+ customized interfaces, multiple direct DB reads, etc.). We need a solid design for the Dealer/Dealer User master data to streamline the integration points & ease the pain points of user maintenance for master data in multiple applications. Scope: 1) Re-platform & redesign existing legacy database to implement a core Master Data Management database for physical & logical data models. 2) Existing data is being interfaced to other applications via specifically designed interfaces for that specific application. 3) MDM design will include a single, streamlined integration hub for integration points.
