Primary responsibility

VA Dept of Fire Programs is looking for SQL Svr DBA to analyze current database, determine if migration SQL 2019 is possible. This is initial phase of this project and 3 month duration is expected. Any future work for the DBA will need to be determined after this phase is completed, next steps are clarified and recommendations are documented/provided to the team.

In addition to the above, this consultant will need to:

- Backup existing MS SQL 2008 database and/or update to support running on MS SQL 2019
- Rewrite/create web-based application to replace existing Access 2010 application. It should connect to the database and be able to do the following with the student records:

- Generate Certificates for students on demand
- Query student records using one or more data points (first name, last name, birthday, phone number, email address, etc.
- Providing a comprehensive proposal to the team for alternate solution if reprogramming for latest SQL is not possible
