Responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture across the system and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the Certification Services Section. The Laboratory Data Entry System (LDES) is an external service which allows laboratories to submit testing results for various compliance programs to the DNR in electronic format. It then stores the results, notifies program staff and routes the results to the correct program IT system. The LDES IT system is currently using an older unsupported technology that will be eliminated by December 1, 2018. The IT system needs to be rewritten using a newer, supported technology. This application currently utilizes Fusion Middleware Designer Web PL/SQL. Mod PL/SQL has been deprecated in the next supported version of Oracle Fusion Middleware that the enterprise wishes to move to. Due to the complexity of the application, we need to begin rewriting the application in a different supported programming language prior to the elimination of the unsupported server. This application is used daily by internal staff. Without this application, staff would not be able access samples results from the LDES database. Define the system, technical, and application architectures for major areas of development and recommend course of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness. Stay up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as these relate to infrastructure and development architecture issues. Research and implement best practices frameworks/capability models that will control costs, provide higher quality, and/or increase predictability of service delivery. Research new technology and development tools to remain abreast of current and emerging technology.Conducts routine tasks as directed.
