KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Primary programming language requirements: C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET, T-SQL Secondary Skills: HTML, CSS, XML, XSLL, AJAX, C++, Nice to have: WCF, TFS 2010, DBA Skills, VMWARE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares, reviews, and analyzes software requirements and specifications. Prepare design, functional, technical, and/or user documentation, as needed, including release notes and documents. Develop, test, and integrate code for new or existing software using defined software lifecycle methodologies. Review and implement test strategies for software products. Provide sustaining or maintenance support to existing software. Ensure file revision control for projects. Clearly communicate project issues and status. Accurately log project schedule, defect, and other data. Analyze and prepare trend reports on quality metrics. Participate in improving product quality through process and procedure improvements. SKILLS: Windows Registry- the consultant should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Registry architecture. This knowledge should include a proven familiarity with manipulating, changing and reviewing registry settings. Consultants for these positions should have a moderate understanding of firmware; how it works, how it interacts with the operating system, and how it affects the hardware it is installed on. An understanding of software imaging of PCs would be a remarkable value to bring to this position, but is not required. The preferred consultant will have a moderate understanding of PC BIOS architecture. Understanding of drive partitioning is a plus, but not required. An understanding of databases, how they work, and basic inputs and outputs that can be derived from them, is required. Good analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills. Able to clearly articulate and document debugging strategy and status on specific problems. This skill should be proven through discussion of techniques used in troubleshooting; methodology knowledge takes precedence here over specific tool information. Good working knowledge of PC architecture. Test Methodology- the candidate for this position should be able to discuss, and present in written form, configuration matrices and test plan inputs which offer highest coverage in timeliest manner for products through their queue. The superior candidate will be able to discuss white box (logic path) versus black box testing methodologies, including statement, decision and condition coverage, and boundary value analysis.
