Evaluates user requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities. Job Duties I. Software Planning Confers with user departments and analyzes business processes, identifying areas where technology can enhance and support them. Takes initiative to identify and implement system or process improvements to support business objectives. Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment. II. Software Development Develops and maintains software and reporting solutions as required by the organization. Participates in generation of design documents with the user community and provides the Development Manager with estimates of effort to be used in prioritization. Develops, tests, and deploys software programs in support of business processes, including any reports and reporting subsystems that provide information to business units. Submits code for deployment after changes have been proven to be effective and stable in a QA environment. III. Software Maintenance Modifies existing programs to conform to system changes or to make improvements in the existing program. Works with user departments to resolve specific problems or make changes in programs, computer applications, capabilities, alternative programming approaches, limitations, etc. III. Other Attains an in-depth understanding of PSIs operational processes in order offer solution enhancing software. Serves in an on-call rotation, providing support during non-business hours. Assists with training personnel in user departments in any specific procedures necessary to enter data into terminals for computer processing. Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections. Trains personnel in user departments on specific procedures for data entry into new software. Performs project management as duties and assignments require. Required Qualifications Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. Mid- to Senior-level proficiency with ASP.net, C#, IIS, SQL Server, and jQuery 6+ years of experience creating data solutions, especially those for data warehousing and reporting. 4+ years of experience in SQL Server development, including SSIS, SSRS, and T-SQL. 2+ years of experience working with the MS Visual Studio Suite of development tools. Experience using C# strongly preferred. Proficiency in SQL and development of enterprise class Reporting Services. Ability to develop solutions in MS Visual Studio. Ability to participate effectively in each stage of the development life cycle. Excellent communication skills, with proven track record of working with technical and non-technical staff. Willingness to assist with other programming duties as necessary to ensure organizational deadlines and objectives are met.
