Job Description : Location: Fully Remote (for strong non-local candidates), for local candidates, starting at Playa Vista, CA and then transitioning to remote (whole team is currently remote). Notes: Resources need to have experience with cloud technology, and enabling CI/CD pipelines. Day to day: · Source control management, · Building the development pipeline for CI/CD, · Using Powershell for scripting for these pipelines, open to new tools as well for scripting, · They are a fully cloud environment, mostly AWS – Salesforce would be an added advantage but not a must have– if they have built any kind of automated pipeline for deployment (source driven deployment for SalesForce) that would be great. Mostly Salesforce is about click and configure, but they like to perform the source driven deployment. · Kubernetes or Docker for containerization – no preference. Interview Process: 2 rounds – 30 minute phone screen first, then bring candidates onsite or video interview for non-local– open for candidates who can work remote – his current team is 100% remote. Candidates should know: 1. How to abstract configurations into a parameterization set. [Software Configuration Management] 2. Build-once-deploy-many (separating build and deployment). 3. Branching and merging - with the ultimate aim of supporting concurrent development. 4. Application and configuration security - and you should start with it and NOT try to tack it on later. [DevSecOps] 5. Agile - the candidate should know agile roles, know the responsibilities for each, and have spent some time in each role. [Agile] 6. REST API - given the widespread use, a candidate should know at least two methods to make REST API calls, and explain how the return information is parsed. She/he should be able to discuss the management of endpoints and possibly API development. 7. Build and Release pipelines - every tool is slightly different, so depending on the tools you select, the candidate should know from day 1 how to create build and release pipelines. 8. Scripting languages - depending on the tools selected, youre either looking at a combination of Python, PowerShell, and bash 9. Cloud - the candidate should understand conceptual differences in the three service types - IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS and she/he should have worked extensively across all 3 service types on AWS, Azure, or GCP. 10. Architecture - comprehension of a subset of design principles will make the difference between seamless and struggle. They should at least know separation of concerns and open closed principle.
