Hundreds (of rows) of transactional data is being replicated into an ODS (Operational Data Store) temp. Challenges are 13 layer queries and non denormalized data are preventing accurate and efficient reporting. There are no dates stored on the individual lines of the claims, so cannot tell when the resolutions occurred. Claims are not closing since each line can have a different resolution like paid, denied, pended, and check cut. All lines in a claim must be paid in order for the claim to be considered paid, so they need a way to report this. Day to Day: Create a data warehouse of replicated OLTP data to OLAP data. Create a limited scope data mart for the healthcare claim data. Create dimensional data models for time and needed measures.
