Custom Scope As an AWS Security Architect, you will be responsible for securing and implementing controls, and processes that safeguard and protect UC System wide applications in the cloud. You will work closely with other AWS cloud engineers and UCOP development and services teams to secure our cloud platform and development pipeline leveraging and utilizing AWSs security controls to meet regulatory and compliance standards. The AWS Security Architect must have a strong focus and understanding of AWSs security controls to address security risks and events as identified. The AWS Security Architect will serve as a security expert in application development, database and design, container and/or virtual machine technologies, helping UCOPs project teams comply with our security policies and conform to industry best practices. The AWS Security Architect must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced agile environment. This position requires strong leadership, design, and communication skills to effectively work with management, team members and business customers. University Of California, Office Of The President POSITION DESCRIPTION Page 1 of 5 Working Title: Cloud Solutions Architect - Security Operations Key Responsibilites 35% Work closely with product and platform teams to engineer security controls based upon UCOPs CISO office policies and standards as they apply to services hosted in the cloud (AWS, AZURE, etc). Assess and understand UCOPs current cloud security posture and future architecture, providing recommendations for vulnerability remediation and risk reduction. Develop secure cloud-based applications and platforms. Evaluate security technologies for cloud environments in order to implement controls in the most streamlined and integrated manner Yes 35% Design and deploy automated security solutions for cloud delivery processes (code pipeline). Design and develop cloud security solutions based upon approved security architectures and enable integration with UCOPs security operations team for risk management and response.
