General Role Description: The Java developer is a hands-on implementer who uses Java-based technologies to code and configure utility applications, generic integration patterns, and identity solutions with high-level guidance from a tech lead or architect. Design, Code and unit-test functionality in Java and related technologies. Assignment: This assignment is to modify and modernize a custom-developed application supporting electronic ID management. Change to include updating from Struts version 1.1, developing interfaces and interoperability with Azure AD, facilitating testing, containerization, modernization of UI and dialog flow. Experienced developing security applications is preferred, but not required. General Practices: Create and document functional/technical designs and test plans for proposed solutions. Adhere to development and integration standards and follow generally accepted best practices for Java development. Required Education and Experience: 1. Bachelors degree plus seven years of experience Java development using Struts or successor technologies. 2. Extensive experience developing Java applications and in-depth knowledge of java frameworks Spring or Java EE. 3. Experience implementing and wiring Web Services in a Java environment using standard libraries such as JAXB, JAX-RS and JAX-WS or Spring-MVC. 4. Experience developing unit tests, integration tests and automated testing using tools like JUnit or JMeter. 5. Experience with GitHub, Maven, Ant and continuous integration with Jenkins. 6. Experience with Local Active Directory and Azure AD development. 7. Relational Databases especially Oracle and SQL Server as well as object-relational mapping tools JPA or Hibernate. 8. Experience securing web services. 9. Experience with Docker or similar. 10. Experience with front end UI development with HTML, CSS, bootstrap, J-Query and JavaScript. 11. Previous experience with Sailpoint Identity IQ highly desirable. 12. Previous experience with TIER software (CAS, Shib, Grouper) highly desirable. Skills and Abilities: 1. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. 2. Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns. 3. Experience with agile best practices including time boxed sprints, frequent refactoring, continuous integration and test driven development. 4. Proven ability to develop enterprise applications. 5. Excellent analytical skills. 6. Must be a fast learner who can hit the ground running. 7. Familiarity with UML artifacts (class, sequence diagrams, etc.). 8.
