The success in selling HP original supplies in the digital environment will be heavily influenced by how well HP defends its brand in the on-line space. Brand Protection Associate This individual is responsible for developing online programs and relationships that can be leveraged globally to ensure a fair online marketplace, decrease customer confusion, and increase visibility of genuine HP ink and toner cartridges on targeted C2C and B2C ecommerce platforms. Working on platforms such as Amazon, eBay and Alibaba and other ecommerce marketplaces that sell aftermarket ink and toner cartridges globally. Primary Function: Liaison with region marketing and sales teams to identify and determine global priorities for targeted domains, countries, skus, and key weaknesses with respect to unfair competition and market confusion. Develop and implement strategies for the defense, identification, and enforcement of unfair use of the HP brand by 3rd party resellers selling on C2C & B2C marketplaces. Collaborate with region sales and country leads to identify channel strategies that can be leveraged globally or inside a given domain to strengthen visibility of genuine HP product. Identify and build external relationships inside the global enforcement and sales teams within the ecommerce platform(s) leveraging HPs global footprint to drive category listing guidelines, and establish shared objectives for decreasing customer confusion and unfair competition. Liaison to the online brand protection agency / vendors as the C2C marketplace expert and lead. Develop PR and communication strategies to educated third party resellers and consumers on category marketing guidelines and naming standards that can be adopted and rolled out across a global domain. Competitive analysis, research and metrics to track consumer confusion with respect to the use of the HP brand and trademarks by competitors on targeted domains. Skill Requirements Very strong Excel and analytical skills Knowledge of the aftermarket ink and toner supplies category. Online ecommerce experience and knowledge of the C2C and B2C marketplaces. Working familiarity with IP law, particularly TM and copyright. Experience working with notice-and-take-down programs is a plus. Understanding of onsite search (SEO/SERP) within targeted ecommerce domains.
