This is a 6 month contract with the potential to extend or go long term. This position will serve as a technical liaison between the test development organization and the factory. The individual in this role will be empowered and responsible for driving changes and improvements in the testing strategy for the custom configurations group Responsibilities will include: Documenting and defining custom configurations of firmware and software for delivered computers Defining work instructions to properly set BIOS configurations and test that the settings have been successfully achieved Documenting common configuration needs for the BIOS Development group, working with them to implement easy to use and easy to test interfaces for these needs. Create complete test approach for validating configurations including test strategy and methodology, test plans, test cases, and definition of appropriate metrics for reporting. Identifying low-hanging fruit for improved quality strategy Monitoring, tracking and reporting on effectiveness of processes to create and load custom software and BIOS configurations Aiding the BIOS group to improve their internal testing capability and rigor Required Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for gaining confidence and respect of technical teams in other groups, ability to build alliances and persuade other teams to support needs of the customization group Ability to define solutions without designing them, enable technical experts to do their own work. Experience in release and configuration of firmware especially in a maintenance situation Analytical skills for understanding production and failure statistics Desired Skills: Prior work developing high-value, understandable test scripts Familiarity with risk-based testing techniques Prior work as a developer of software or firmware is useful for technical understanding, but the candidate will not be expected to develop code Understanding of laptop and desktop architectures in a PC environment   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
