Serve as the liaison between application development and other offices on campus to determine how best to design, develop, and implement effective front-end user experiences using a variety of systems and programming. Work with relevant stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers to develop new user-facing features by translating project and user requirements into prototypes and then into finished products. Write code to implement visual elements into various web applications; and build reusable code and libraries for future use. Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs suggested by the business analysts to make sure the designs will fit into, and effectively enhance, the current infrastructure. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders from across the institution to develop smooth, aesthetically pleasing, and user-friendly front-end experiences for internal and external program and site users. Collaborate with members of the website team (including back-end developers) to consistently improve functionality and user-friendliness of the web applications. Improve websites to ensure fast loading speeds through optimizing JavaScript and CSS and deciding when to load assets. Identify and troubleshoot various website issues and coding problems. Maintain updated knowledge of the development industry, modern browser technology, and any other relevant advancements in technology.
