Under limited supervision, the IT Architect participates in all aspects of application delivery. The IT Architect will work closely with the developers and other project team members on low to medium scale assignments of minimum to medium risk. The IT Architect will gather and analyze user requirements, generate conceptual design and develop implementation strategies. This position requires basic communication, problem-solving and leadership skills. This position also involves extensive interactions with business unit customers requiring the IT Architect to have a good mixture of business knowledge and technical skills. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Examine and evaluate current business processes and tasks, and develop ideas for improvement. Convert knowledge and ideas into better ways of doing business or into new or improved products and services. Participate in review, evaluation, and recommendation of new technologies. Assist with the preparation of resource estimates, evaluations, and recommendations. Identify, control and manage the impact of uncertain harmful technology events on the project and the project deliverables. Use diagrams to help discover, communicate and understand the problem being solved and develop the software solution. Use patterns as a fundamental structural organization schema for software systems. Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Companys Corporate Compliance Policy. Understand and support the policies, values, principles, structure and behavior of AEP. Ensures alignment to AEPs supported technology stack with all provided solutions. Promote continuous improvement within the project team. Data Warehouse and ETL Architect, Data Analytics Team Responsibilities: Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts and Business SMEs to get a good understanding of business reporting and data consumption requirements Responsible for preparation of High Level Solution design and preparation of Estimates. Design and build conceptual designs and context diagrams to provide a good understanding of the business context to the business and development teams. Responsible for carrying out Impact Analysis and Impact remediation Identification of technical issues/risks, Remediation of issues/risks Design and build Dimensional and Physical Data Model with a clear understanding of best practices. Design the data integration approach based on requirements. Prepare the detail design of ETL batch processes. Coach ETL developers to develop the batch processes ensuring ETL best practices are met Responsible for the development of advanced ETL batch processes. Develop implementation strategies for implementing the Data layer and the ETL process layer in production Responsible for process improvements when working on enhancements to existing functionality Collaborate with IT Support counterparts to conduct design and Code reviews Coach and mentor junior resources on the team Functional skills required: Good blend of functional and technical skills. Good Business Acumen is a key skill. Should be able to communicate with the business users at a functional level. Technical Skills: Informatica 9 Series: Minimum 8-10 Years of experience Oracle, PL/SQL: Minimum 6-8 Years of experience (SQL Development, Performance Tuning) Dimensional Modeling: Minimum 4-5 Years of experience Agile Scrum framework: Must to have experience Cognos, Business Objects: Preferred Informatica Power Exchange experience would be a big plus Soft Skills: Good Team player.
