It has an opportunity for a Domain Architect role in the Waltham area. This is a 6+ month contract Position: Domain Architect Location: Waltham, MA (Remote) Rate: Negotiable based on experience Duration: 6+ months Position Description: Will ensure that I&O maintains internal technical knowledge and the architectural integrity across the Operational Telcomm (OT), CNI and Enterprise service portfolio and the various suppliers of IT Infrastructure and services to business from current to future state. Further to ensure the alignment and assurance across the architecture underpinning the solutions supporting with OT, CNI and Enterprise. The candidate will take ownership for the infrastructure architecture definition and ongoing evolution of a set of infrastructure requirements, hardware and software patterns and solution roadmap, that in-house and outsourced teams must comply with to ensure new and upgraded services can be efficiently built to meet well defined SLA, performance and ROI targets. These requirements must facilitate cost effective service management, allowing for rapid deployment, lowering the risk and cost of change, enabling rapid fault isolation, appropriate volume and regression testing, dynamic hardware and bandwidth provisioning with proactive monitoring. Candidate is responsible for determining current and future OT, CNI and Enterprise networking needs involving Optel or private fiber, Telemetry, Automatic Metering Infrastructure (AMI), IOT, supporting technologies and integration across these areas. The candidate will oversee and actively drive the development of the architecture and design of Optel or private fiber infrastructure, substation communications, distribution communications (Distributed System Operator (DSO), AMI, IOT, street lighting, reclosers, etc) and interconnector connectivity. Requires a bachelors degree with at least 10 years of practical experience developing infrastructure architecture. Familiar with operational concepts, practices, and procedures so that architected solutions can be implemented, operated and maintained effectively. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks including documenting and presenting the architecture to superiors and peers, ensuring the documentation meets Enterprise Architecture standards. May be required to direct the work of partners and suppliers. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management Required Skills: 1.
