DTS will be responsible for the design of the new system based on feedback provided by BCI. DTS will ensure it has adequate resources for designing, building, and implementing the new system as well as conducting a train-the-trainer session that enables experienced users to show less-experienced users how to use the system. DTS vision for the new ABC system is to: Automate or increase efficiency of applicant background check processes Increase integration among internal and external systems Improve system design, interface, usability, and user-friendliness Rapidly and efficiently respond to legislative mandates requiring system changes Better utilize existing data for improved decision-making Provide a flexible, reliable technology base for the future DTS believes this vision will lead to more rapid processing of background checks for all parties involved.. Most importantly, DTS believes an improved and integrated system will directly lead to improved outcomes, i.e., reduced time spent on manual processes frees up staff as well as improved system functionality. Project Roles and Responsibilities Project Sponsor - Alice Moffat : ? Ultimate decision-maker and tie-breaker ? Provide project oversight and guidance ? Review/approve some project elements ? Approves major funding and resource allocation strategies, and significant changes to funding/resource allocation Steering Committee - Alice Moffat, Nicole Borgeson, Kathy Wilcox, Jacob Dunn, Jesse Deveraux, Jason Chapman, Lance Tyler, Brett Wilson : ? Commits department resources ? Resolves conflicts and issues ? Provides direction to the Project Manager ? Review project deliverables Project Manager - Chelsey Burns and Chris Maughn : Manages project in accordance to the project plan ? Serves as liaison to the Steering Committee ? Receive guidance from Steering Committee ? Supervises consultants ? Provide overall project direction ? Direct/lead team members toward project objectives ? Handle problem resolution ?
