This individual will need to work with various application and infrastructure groups to understand requirements for each area of the organization. - General duties include monitoring system infrastructure and security and assisting in supporting disaster recover/failover scenarios. This position at the South Carolina client is one of multiple that will form a team of highly experienced IT professionals with time sensitive challenging projects. This contractor will be one member of a team that is comprised of proven experts in some or all of the fields of networking, virtual environments, security, encryption, network automation, centralized IT management, Microsoft server, system, and networking environments. This intent of this work order is to provide implementation and maintenance support on the network and networked systems at the client. Under general supervision, the contractor will serve as an engineer reporting directly to a functional manager. Contractor will be a team member that ensures the stability and integrity of network, data and server services through monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all server and infrastructure systems. This individual has 24/7 on-call responsibilities shared with the group. - GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Non-Technical - Effectively interact and communicate with peer to Director-level IT professionals. - Provide feedback to team regarding product issues, enhancements and new features. - Must have initiative, drive and be a self-starter. - Ability to ask pertinent questions of others. - Proactively seek to identify, communicate and implement process related improvements. - Effectively manage multiple tasks and activities concurrently and able to provide periodic status updates to key stakeholders Technical - Troubleshoot and recommend technical solutions. - Develop workaround solutions as appropriate. - Monitor and assess current systems and recommend hardware and software enhancements - Act as technical resource for other IT analysts and business units by resolving complex computer equipment and systems problems - Diagnose and resolve problems related to hardware, software, or operator error, and resolve or repair - Escalate complex problems to other groups, Help Desk, or vendors for resolution or for support under maintenance agreements; oversee vendor work Required Skills: - At least 5 years experience in Information Technology, with emphasis past 2 years on AVAMAR.. - AVAMAR server/Client and Administrator console features and procedures - Create and Manage Dataset, Schedule and Retention Policy. - Monitoring AVAMAR backups and recovering failed backups. - AVAMAR system migration concepts - Configuring/Managing VMware backups. - Strong Knowledge of EMC Avamar concepts - Should understand the EMC Avamar process flow & error codes - Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of backup and recovery related issues. - Expereince in analyzing problelms, escalation to appropriate Levels. Hardware /software fault detection and vendor liaison - Good knowledge on DR and Restoring backups based on requirement. Configuring Events, Notifications. - Demonstrate experience in generating different kind of backup reports and sending to customer. - Responsible for capacity planning and performance analysis of backup and recovery infrastructure. - Consults with end users to coordinate scheduling of backups and address other backup and recovery concerns. - Responsible for strategic planning related to ongoing enhancement of large backup and recovery environment - Experience in monitoring infrastructure systems for Windows env   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
